GIT

Software version control is a de facto obligation in IT development. It allows a simple and controlled development and maintenance that helps improve the quality of the software. GIT is one of the most used version control tools in the world.

Git is a free and open source distributed version control system designed to handle everything from small to very large projects with speed and efficiency.

What is GIT and why is it so important?

At DigitalIlusion, customer satisfaction and trust in us is the most important

Quality is achieved by applying the best available methodologies and tools to build the best possible solutions.

GIT is one of these tools.

A good use of GIT allows to have a meticulous control over the code that is developed.

It can be seen as a logbook or ledger system (called repository) where developers write down the changes or additions they make to the code.

When the time comes to perform testing or to go into production a delivery, you can freeze the version. This allows that if later changes do not work correctly, you can go back without problem.

It also helps developers to work together and in parallel, which improves productivity.

Do not forget why and who created GIT.

It was initially developed by Linus Tovards himself, creator of the Linux kernel. His motivation was none other than to put order in the collaborative development of Linux. The version control tools that were available did not help a distributed development (where each developer had and worked on a copy of the repository without affecting the rest of the developers).

GIT as lifestyle

We use GIT in all the projects we develop. Whether small, medium or large.
It is a technology and horizontal tool essential today.
Its use also allows other modern development tools to be applied: automatic testing, continuous integration, continuous deployment, etc.
